Sometime, I wondered what causes the pain.. I think it is the misinterpretation of what has been taught to us. Here goes the example of a misconception of what has been generally said.

===========================================================================
Karmanye Vadhikaraste Ma Phaleshu Kadachana,
Ma Karma Phala Hetur Bhurmatey Sangostva Akarmani – Bhagawat Gita

Do your duty and be detached from its outcome,
do not be driven by the end product, enjoy the process of getting there. -
- BHAGVAD GITA “

Many people wrongly translate it as

” you do your duty without asking the rewards”

The right translation(Sri Sankara) is : You have the free will to do the karma but the results are granted by god.
You take it for granted. Never think that you are the cause for each of the results of your actions. This is your ego what it tell you, that you are the creator of your results.
===========================================================================

I do think most of us are misinterpretting the duty as a sacrifice and thus the ego of giving up itself is the cause for the pain. Our  thoughts and actions will have an end result and it will be dictated by the almighty.

Today, what we go through is the outcome of our own actions. The results of actions are given to me by god and I shall accept it.
