In genuine trust there is rest

TODAY’S MESSAGE

Some years ago I had a female cat named “Gatyria.” In the early days of our co-existence, Gatyria was always seeking a place to hide whenever she heard a vacuum cleaner, a hair blower, a spray, or when visitors stepped into the house. She was always a fearful cat, and with time I got accustomed to this behavior. It was sometimes hilarious to see her going crazy trying to find a hiding spot when one couldn’t be found at that very moment! How much I laughed at those times!!

Over the years Gatyria learned to trust me and not act so fearful while I was around. I watched her at times while working on my computer, and she just curled herself right beside me and slept regardless of a printer in process, a fax being received, or phones ringing. Little by little her trust seemed to increase as she realized that I had no intentions to harm her in any way.

This same level of trust is the one we need to develop toward God –our Heavenly Father Who is never after us trying to punish or destroy us. Just the very opposite, our God is always desiring to be closer to us so we may listen to His heart and find our way into our divinely-prepared anointing and blessing. For God has designed you and me with an eternal purpose, and only He can provide us the keys to unlock the blessings and power that come about when we step into our designed destiny.

This kind of trust can only be developed through a personal relationship with God, which can progressively happen as we read God’s Word and pray. When we take the time to be alone with our Heavenly Father and receive guidance through His Word, we find ourselves connected to our true source of energy and rest. And when we leave this sacred space our hearts, souls and minds –even our physical bodies— feel at rest, at peace. And this is something all of us desperately need on a daily basis –not only to receive peace, but to know God in a deeper and intimate way.

Don’t let your day go by without a quiet moment with your Creator. Commit yourself to trust Him in every situation. For leaning on His faithfulness and daily provision will definitely make a difference in your life and those around you… every single day.

TODAY’S PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your awesome loving-kindness toward me in all circumstances. Thank You for always being there for me and for providing Your Word and prayer as key vehicles to know You. Help me to commit each day to take time to acknowledge Your presence and pray. I rejoice for the awesome blessings that will come as a result of trusting You. In Jesus’ precious name, amen.
